BNSIM GIS Training: Overview
BNSIM GIS Training is intended for all individuals and professionals dealing with Geographic Information Systems (GIS), and willing to achieve or improve some practical skills in implementing GIS related tasks. Course content varies from basic, practical use of GIS software, the broad technical skills that may be required, to the exploitation of evolving new technologies, which qualitatively and conceptually forge the recourse to innovative notions, such as mobile or dynamic GIS. Hence, beside the traditional use of software, devices and techniques involved in implementing GIS-related tasks, the training programs offer attendees the choice to follow the current surge of innovations in the GIS field while assessing their relevance and how to make use of them. The programs include some practical skills in cartography, the processing of geospatial and remotely sensed data such as satellite imagery and aerial photographs…, using GIS and image processing resources.
BNSIM provides two procedures that allow you to participate more conveniently in a training session: Online/Distance Training, and Traditional Training Sessions.
Online/Distance Training: as the term indicates, here all processes and resources required for the training are accessible without the need to travel, from the current website. Participation in an Online/Distance Training course requires the attendee a personal computer with Internet access (see How to enroll in an Online/Distance Training Course link above on this page).
Traditional Training Sessions: for the traditional GIS training sessions, all resources required for implementing the courses are provided by BNSIM. Enrolled participants will need to be physically present at the course/training locations (see How to enroll in a Traditional Training Course). Other information relating to the content of the courses, which is freely accessible to all guests of this site along with some free courses or material…, may be used as a guide to choosing suitable training sessions and courses.
While all Training Sessions are held periodically, the BNSIM’s Traditional Training sessions rotate from one location to another around the world.
Beside the two formal training sessions mentioned above, other training materials (videos and other data products) may also be available via the Internet; these downloadable products will be offered at very competitive prices.
